Two paths, one wedding

The groom's suit and the groomsmen's suits.

Most wedding parties carry two distinct stories. The groom's suit is personal, photographed, kept, and remembered. The groomsmen's suits are coordinated, comfortable, and on budget, sized for a group that needs to look unified without looking uniform. Crowned Legacy works both paths on the same wedding, with separate workflows tuned to each.

For the groom, the work runs closer to a personal commission. Cloth, lapel, lining, and finishing are chosen for one body and one day, often with details that quietly reference the bride's gown, the venue, or the season. The result is a garment that remains in the wardrobe long after the wedding album is printed.

For the groomsmen, the work runs as a group package. One coordinated cloth, one lapel style, individual fittings, individual delivery. The party arrives together at the wedding looking unified, with each suit cut to the man wearing it. Two paths, one wedding, neither one compromised by the other.

"Most grooms want their suit to feel like part of the day, not something they rented. Most groomsmen want to feel coordinated without being identical. We solve both on the same wedding."

How wedding fittings work

Mobile fittings, group or individual.

The groom's consultation runs sixty to ninety minutes at home, at the office, or at the wedding venue itself. Cloth selection, measurements, and the color story conversation happen in one appointment. A second fitting on the finished suit closes the timeline before the ceremony.

Groomsmen group fittings happen at one location, on one afternoon. Sam travels to the chosen location, whether that is the groom's home, the wedding venue, a hotel block, or a private space the party books for the day. Each groomsman is measured individually; the cloth is selected once, by the groom or by the couple, and locked across the party. Delivery is individual, scheduled to accommodate groomsmen who travel.

Out of area participants who cannot attend the group fitting submit measurements through a local tailor or a self measurement guide. Sam reviews each set of numbers and flags any that need a second look before the pattern goes to construction.

Color stories

Seven color stories tuned to the venue.

Northern California weddings happen across a range of light and landscape that defies a single palette. The Crowned Legacy color stories pair cloth families to venue types, season, and ceremony style.

The full wedding lookbook with cloth swatches, real couple photography, and venue specific styling lives at wedding.crownedlegacysuits.com, the dedicated wedding subdomain. For black tie ceremonies and evening receptions, the same cloth library extends for evening ceremonies.

Group packages & coordination

Four to twelve groomsmen, one coordinated cloth.

Group packages are sized for wedding parties of four to twelve groomsmen. The cloth is locked across the party. Lapel style and construction details are coordinated, with small variations permitted for the groom's distinction (for instance, a peak lapel on the groom against notch lapels on the party). Individual fit is preserved for every groomsman; coordination lives at the cloth and silhouette level, not the size level.

Group pricing applies to wedding parties of four or more, ordered together, with shared cloth selection. Delivery is flexible: groomsmen do not need to be local to participate, and final fittings can be sequenced to accommodate travel into the wedding city in the weeks before the ceremony.

Additions that wedding parties commonly request: matching pocket squares, custom monogrammed lining, fathers of the couple suits in the same cloth family, ring bearer formalwear in scaled down construction, and custom shirts to pair beneath. Each item is quoted individually and added to the party order.

Wedding Timeline

Twelve weeks is the recommended window.

The recommended start is twelve weeks before the ceremony. Four to eight weeks build the suits. The remaining weeks absorb life: schedule conflicts, weight changes, last minute groomsmen additions, the unforeseen. Twelve weeks gives the order a comfortable buffer.

Eight weeks before the ceremony is the practical minimum. No buffer, everything tight, but feasible when the calendar cooperates. Less than eight weeks is possible at a rush charge, on a case by case basis, when Sam's bench schedule allows.

Wedding date moves happen. Construction pauses, the order holds, the new date sets the new schedule. There is no rush charge, no cancellation penalty, and no pressure to commit to a new ceremony date before the planning is settled. Wedding parties often add custom blazers for rehearsal dinners to bridge the casual side of the wedding weekend.

Who it's for

Couples building a wedding around the day they remember.

Wedding suits are for grooms who want the suit to feel like part of the day rather than a rental. They are for wedding parties that want coordination without uniformity, individual fit across a group that arrives together. They are for couples planning at venues from Lake Tahoe to Napa Valley to the Bay coast, where the cloth needs to belong to the light.

Many wedding clients come to Crowned Legacy after years of renting from Men's Wearhouse or Generation Tux for groomsmen and previous weddings. Others have tried Indochino, Suitsupply, or other made to measure brands and want fitting in their home or office instead of a mall storefront or showroom. The journey from rental to commission to bespoke is well traveled, and Crowned Legacy meets each client wherever that journey starts.

Wedding orders also serve couples who want the suit to keep working after the ceremony. A well cut wedding suit becomes a wardrobe suit a year later, with the photograph attached for life. Crowned Legacy designs every wedding commission with that second life in mind.

Frequently asked

What couples ask before they book.

When should we start the wedding suit conversation?
Twelve weeks before the ceremony is the recommended start. That allows four to eight weeks for construction and another four weeks for adjustments, life events, and the unexpected. Eight weeks before is the practical minimum, with no buffer. Less than eight weeks is possible at a rush charge, when the calendar allows. For weddings outside Northern California or with twelve plus groomsmen, sixteen weeks is the safer window.
Can groomsmen who live out of state participate?
Yes. Out of state groomsmen submit measurements either through a local tailor's measurement form or by self measuring against a Crowned Legacy guide. Sam reviews the numbers, flags any that need a second look, and the pattern proceeds. Final delivery happens in the wedding city, with adjustment sessions scheduled around the rehearsal weekend. Out of state participation has been part of the model from the start; the workflow is built for it.
What if a groomsman's measurements change between fitting and ceremony?
Adjustments are made at no charge. Weight shifts, gym routines, training cycles, all of it happens in the months between booking and the wedding. Crowned Legacy keeps a buffer in the final fitting calendar specifically for last minute adjustments. The Perfect Fit Guarantee covers post wedding alterations as well, for groomsmen who want the suit to keep working as a wardrobe garment after the ceremony.
Do you do destination weddings outside Northern California?
On request, and arranged case by case. The studio model travels: groom and groomsmen who book a Northern California consultation often have weddings in Tahoe, Napa, Carmel, Sea Ranch, or further afield. For weddings outside California, Sam coordinates with a local tailor for the final fitting in the wedding city. The starting conversation is the same regardless of where the ceremony lands.
What happens if my wedding date moves?
Construction pauses, the order holds, the new date sets the new schedule. Date moves are common; the workflow accounts for them. There is no rush charge, no cancellation penalty, and no pressure to commit to a new ceremony date before the planning is settled. The cloth is set aside, the pattern is held, and work resumes when the timeline is firm.
Should grooms rent or buy their wedding suit?
Grooms commissioning their first custom suit through their wedding consistently report that owning the wedding suit is the right choice. The suit becomes their primary formal garment for the next decade, the photographs hold up better than rental fits ever do, and the cost of one custom commission compares to two to three rentals. The honest exception is the groom who knows he will not wear a suit again for years; for that case, renting is the practical answer.
How does a custom wedding suit compare to renting from Men’s Wearhouse, Generation Tux, or The Black Tux?
A custom wedding suit from Crowned Legacy Suits costs $999 to $3,500 depending on cloth and construction, while rental wedding suits at major services run $99 to $400 per groom for a single event rental. Generation Tux wedding suits start at $79 for blazer only options and run to $199 for full ensembles. Men's Wearhouse complete packages run $99 to $249. The Black Tux runs $149 to $400. The custom commission is owned, fits one body precisely, and uses materials that age into the wardrobe rather than cycling back to inventory.
